MD/PhD in Liver Disease Translational Medicine

The Inserm Institute for Viral and Liver Diseases, University of Strasbourg France, is looking for a talented and driven MD-PhD Candidate to join Prof. Baumert’s highly ambitious research program funded by several prestigious grants (ERC AdG FIBCAN, France 2030 RHU DELIVER, LabEx HepSYS). This program aims at delivering transformative solutions for treatment of liver fibrosis and cancer. The successful candidate will investigate the liver disease biology using cutting edge technologies and contribute to the development of novel therapies in collaboration with collaborating hospitals and Pharma. Our program is based on key scientific discoveries described in:  Mailly et al. Nat Biotech 2015, Hamdane et al. Gastroenterology 2019, Crouchet et al. Nat. Commun. 2021, Jühling et al. Gut. 2021, Roehlen et al. Sci Transl Med 2022, Roehlen et al. JHepat 2023

MD with a first exposure to biomedical translational or clinical research (e. g. in cancer, fibrosis or immunology) and ambition to drive an innovative project to success. Strong communicator with excellent command of English, both spoken and written. Drive and motivation to lead and execute a project in translational research. You thrive in a fast-paced and exciting scientific environment with the opportunity for leading and driving a biomedical translational research program.
