Postdoctoral position in virus-host interactions of viral hepatitis and biomarker discovery during virus-induced liver disease
The Inserm Institute for Viral and Liver Diseases, University of Strasbourg France, is looking for a talented and motivated Postdoc to join a highly ambitious translational program for the identification of virus-induced pro-oncogenic epigenetic footprints (chronic hepatitis B, C, D) and the discovery of novel minimal-invasive biomarkers predictive for elevated liver cancer risk in patients. The project, funded within the Horizon Europe Framework Programme (HORIZON), benefits from a state-of-the-art infrastructure, and cutting-edge patient model systems and a national network of biobanks. A background in virology or immunology would be desirable. Our program is based on key scientific discoveries and knowledge described in Hamdane et al. Gastroenterology 2019, Lupberger et al. Gastroenterology 2019, Aizarani et al. Nature 2019, Eller et al. Nat. Commun. 2020, Verrier et al. Gut 2020, Crouchet et al. Nat. Commun. 2021, Jühling et al. Gut 2021.
What we offer
The institute is a world-class organisation of scientific excellence, training, and innovation in the heart of Europe within a high-quality environment of pharma, academia and medical care. The successful candidate will benefit of:
- An international and vibrant state-of-the-art training environment
- Cutting-edge technologies and the latest patient-derived models in BSL3 safety facilities
- Close collaborations with pharma and world-class leaders in the field
- Tenure track program at Inserm and Unistra and excellent career opportunities in industry
